Tomball Regional Health Foundation (TRHF) is the name of the Tomball Hospital Authority ("THA"). Tomball Hospital Authority was the owner and operator of Tomball Regional Medical Center from its founding on August 11, 1976 until its sale to a subsidiary of Community Health Systems, Inc. on October 1, 2011. The hospital was then sold HCA Healthcare Houston on July 5, 2017.

TOMBALL REGIONAL HEALTH FOUNDATION IS PLEASED TO AWARD A GRANT TO THE TOMBALL LIONS CLUB FOR HEARING AIDS

Tomball, TX – Tomball Regional Health Foundation is excited to announce its recent grant award to the Tomball Lions Club to purchase six pairs of hearing aids for people with financial need in our community. Without the Foundations support, the Lions Club would not have been able to help these families. “We look forward to a long relationship in providing support for families in great need, according to Al Gerhardt, Lions Club Treasurer.”   The six sets of hearing aids for this program were purchased through Kienholz Hearing Center and Costco. All recipients have received their hearing aids and are now doing follow up visits to get them properly adjusted.  One of the recipients is 15-year-old young man who was born with Bright’s Kidney disease and at 12 days old they detected his hearing loss. This assistance is so helpful for him to increase his hearing ability in his daily life....

CONCORDIA LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL RECEIVES GRANT AWARD FROM TOMBALL REGIONAL HEALTH FOUNDATION

Tomball, TX – Tomball Regional Health Foundation is excited to announce its recent grant award to Concordia Lutheran High School (CLHS) in support of teen mental health initiatives and random student drug testing, both of which will help address an epidemic of mental health concerns facing teens across the country. According to the CDC, mental health disorders among children are an important public health issue because of their prevalence, early onset and impact on the child, family and entire community.  When an adolescent is too incapacitated by a mental or neurological disorder to pursue his or her education, the whole country loses.   Since the onset of these problems can be difficult to detect and many families lack the medical means to seek help, students must rely on mental health resources provided within their schools, given that schools are an ideal place for the early detection of a mental health issue...

TOMBALL REGIONAL HEALTH FOUNDATION IS PLEASED TO GRANT KLEIN ISD FUNDS FOR THE HEALTHY LIVING PROGRAM

TOMBALL (June 11, 2018) Tomball Regional Health Foundation (TRHF) is proud to announce funding to Klein ISD to expand Kleinwell Healthy Living Program in the amount of $69,727.79. The majority of the awarded grant will go to support the growth of the healthcare related Career and Technical Education Pathway programs offered at Klein ISD’s high schools. The Advanced Nursing, Emergency Medical Technician, and Pharmacology Pathway programs will receive real-world supplies and training. Giving students true to life training that will benefit our community by producing highly experienced and qualified students ready for their futures in the health care industry. The Advanced Nursing Pathway program will replicate the training models used at Lone Star College for the classroom instruction at Klein High School. TOMBALL REGIONAL HEALTH FOUNDATION IS HAPPY TO GRANT THE JOYRIDE CENTER FUNDS TO EXPAND THEIR JPRC PREP - DAY HABILITATION PROGRAM

TOMBALL (May 9, 2018) Tomball Regional Health Foundation (TRHF) is proud to announce the most recent grant in the amount of $79,934 funded to the JoyRide Center to expand their Day Habilitation Program. This grant will provide for the expansion of the JRC Prep Day Habilitation Program from the current two days per week program to a four day per week program. Funding allows for additional personnel resources, computer equipment, software and specialized teaching curriculum. The JRC Prep program serves clients with physical and cognitive disabilities that have aged out of high school but are not yet prepared to enter the workforce.  These capable young adults are often sitting at home for years after graduation with little hope of becoming active members of their communities.  Many of them are capable of becoming employed or providing community service.  The JRC Prep Program provides a first opportunity at employment for some of these...

TOMBALL ISD AWARDED NEARLY $125,000 FOR FULL-CONTINUUM MENTAL HEALTH MODEL FROM TOMBALL REGIONAL HEALTH FOUNDATION

TOMBALL (April 10, 2018) Tomball Regional Health Foundation (TRHF) awarded Tomball Independent School District (Tomball ISD) a $124,707 grant to accelerate a districtwide full-continuum mental health model that will further improve the district’s system to identify and support the mental health needs of all students. A districtwide full-continuum will enhance a tiered support framework. Tier One will implement the Center’s Emotional Backpack awareness campaign that will include training modules, lesson plan, and activities to help reduce mental health stigmas within campus culture. Tier Two focuses on campus interventions, consistent information dissemination, and referral programs for mental health needs. The final tier, Tier Three, will enable Tomball ISD to provide routine assessment of students found under the influence to determine the extent to which the student may have a substance abuse disorder. TOMBALL REGIONAL HEALTH FOUNDATION AWARDS $10,000 IN FUNDING TO SIRE -THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP TO BUILD HEALTHY OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY

TOMBALL (April 5, 2018) Tomball Regional Health Foundation awards a $10,000 grant to SIRE – Therapeutic Horsemanship to provide therapeutic riding lessons to promote healthy outcomes for children with disabilities throughout Tomball, Magnolia, Waller communities. This partnership will benefit 10 children with disabilities from families in financial need. “We are overjoyed for the families in the community that SIRE will be able to serve through this generous gift”, stated Joe Wappelhorst, Executive Director of SIRE. People with disabilities need safe, effective exercise; social opportunities; and activities to develop life, academic and work skills. TOMBALL REGIONAL HEALTH FOUNDATION IS PLEASED TO GRANT TOMBALL EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE MINISTRIES FUNDING FOR THEIR EMERGENCY DENTAL PROGRAM

TOMBALL, TX (March 1, 2018) Tomball Regional Health Foundation (TRHF) is proud to announce the partnership with Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries (TEAM) to provide emergency dental care to low-income, qualifying adults and seniors in the Tomball, Magnolia, and Waller areas.  In recent years TEAM has assisted with dental needs but, along with providing assistance for medical, prescription, and vision needs, did not have adequate funding to meet the demand for, often expensive, emergency dental care. The $50,000 grant from TRHF will allow TEAM’s clients to apply for dental care assistance up to the maximum of $1,500 per person, and to increase our prior assistance provided by 30% over the one-year grant period. The goal of both organizations is to not only alleviate the pain and suffering caused by tooth decay and infection, but to also prevent oral diseases from developing into more serious health complications. Tomball Regional Health Foundation Is Happy To Grant Concordia Lutheran High School The Funds To Support Clinical And Safety Needs

Tomball, TX (July 28, 2017) Tomball Regional Health Foundation announced today that it recently awarded a grant to Concordia Lutheran High School to help support clinical and safety needs as well as the implementation and support of mental health initiatives to address adolescent concerns that are currently affecting our students and our community. This funding will help provide First Aid/CPR Certification and Skills Training for all Concordia staff as a life-saving measure on campus. It will also enable Concordia’s counseling department to receive additional training to adequately address key mental health issues that are affecting all teens in our community, and implement quarterly programs on topics such as suicide prevention, substance abuse, depression, bullying, anxiety, to name a few. Tomball Regional Health Foundation Is Committed To Building A Culture Of Health By Donating $86,000 Towards The Purchase Of CPR Anytime Kits For Tomball And Surrounding Areas

TOMBALL (July 20, 2017) – Tomball Regional Health Foundation (TRHF) is pleased to purchase 3,000 CPR Anytime Kits for American Heart Association to train community members in Tomball and surrounding communities. This gift will help create a new generation of life-saving heroes. CPR Anytime allows you to learn basic lifesaving skills in about 20 minutes from the comfort and privacy of your home or workplace. Plus, CPR Anytime is completely portable, so it is easy to share with family and friends. The $86,000 gift will secure CPR Anytime Kits that will be donated to churches and other community organizations that partner with the AHA. In 2016, Tomball Regional Health Foundation awarded AHA $89,906 placing 128 CPR in Schools Training Kits and 100 CPR Anytime Kits in six nearby school districts and one private high school. Tomball Regional Health Foundation Is Delighted To Announce Funding For Boys and Girls Country

  HOUSTON (July 18, 2017) – The Tomball Regional Health Foundation is happy to announce that they have awarded Boys and Girls Country of Houston, Inc. (BGC) a $22,000 grant to pay for uncovered medical and dental expenses for the coming year. The funds will be used for dental, orthodontia, vision, prescriptions and medical equipment. Tomball Regional Health Foundation Awards American Lung Association Grant for Asthma Education Programs in Local Schools

HOUSTON (February 15, 2017) – The Tomball Regional Health Foundation has awarded American Lung Association in Texas a $31,625 grant to launch and support its Texas Asthma Management in Schools Program. The initiative provides asthma programing for school nurses in addition to offering to education to asthma students and their caregivers and will begin in the 2017 spring semester in the Tomball Independent School District (ISD), the Klein ISD, the Magnolia ISD and the Waller ISD. “I brainstormed this program late last year and have been working on a sustainable grant,” said Dr. Rubina Abrol, asthma programs manager at the American Lung Association in Texas – Houston. “With the generous support from the Tomball Health Foundation, nurses in the Tomball, Klein, Magnolia and Waller school districts will have the proper training and resources to help any student who may have asthma or experience respiratory distress while at school.” Asthma is a...

Funding for NAM's Meals on Wheels Program in Tomball and Waller

Tomball Regional Health Foundation is honored to be able to provide funding to Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) to expand their Meals on Wheels programs in Tomball and Waller Tomball Regional Health Foundation is proud to announce the funding to Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) for the expansion of their Meals on Wheels (MOW) program in Tomball and Waller Texas. NAM is a non-denominational, 501 (c) (3), community-based, multi-program social service agency that is supported by more than 50 congregations, 18 Service Partner organizations and more than 160 business Community Partners.  NAM has served north and northwest Harris County since 1983. NAM’s Meals on Wheels in fiscal year 2015-2016 (MOW) provided 134,011 nutritious meals to 1,034 homebound seniors and disabled adults, serving on average 600 each weekday and 91 individuals on Saturdays.  Ninety-Three (93) low-income senior clients received monthly grocery deliveries to supplement their food budgets. New Bilingual Youth Counselor for Montgomery County Youth Services

Tomball Regional Health Foundation is pleased to be able to Fund an Additional Bilingual Crisis Counselor at Montgomery County Youth Services in Magnolia, TX Tomball Regional Health Foundation is proud to announce the funding to Montgomery County Youth Services (MCYS) to hire a new bilingual crisis counselor in the Magnolia Office. MCYS provides crisis counseling, shelter programs, and prevention services to strengthen families, keep youth in school, and prepare them to be productive citizens. A Spanish speaking mental health counselor will provide services to the youth served at the Magnolia Office. This office also serves youth from Tomball and Waller. Counseling will include; individuals, family, and group counseling sessions to assist the young people to cope with depression, anxiety, problems with relationships, school problems, etc. The parents will also learn effective parenting skills to strengthen the family and help the youth stay in school.
